I cannot recommend Dr Amy enough, especially for handling any kind of oral ties. The initial assessment was extremely thorough and Dr Amy made herself available for any and all questions that arose afterwards. We ended up not having our child’s ties released so I can’t speak to the release procedure and aftercare, but the fact that we did not feel pressured into the procedure and felt comfortable making the decision we did says volumes about this practice! So many places with release ties without proper reason/assessment, and that is NOT this practice.

The Dental Crown Treatment Process

Preparing The Tooth

Dr. Weis will begin by cleaning and numbing your mouth in preparation for treatment. We remove the decay and reshape your tooth to create a stable platform for your new dental crown. We strive to be as conservative in our preparations as possible to preserve as much natural tooth structure as we can.

Imaging & Temporary Crown Placement

Using a 3D scanner, we will create digital impressions of your teeth, which will be used to build your custom dental crown. We’ll also capture some additional images of your teeth to ensure that your new crown matches the shade of your natural smile perfectly. Your model or impression will be sent to a dental lab where your crown will be crafted out of durable and esthetic materials. Your dentist will attach a temporary crown for the few weeks it will take for your permanent crown to be made in order to protect your newly-prepared tooth.

Final Fit & Finish

Once we receive your permanent dental crown, you’ll return to our office for a final fitting. First, we’ll ensure that your new crown fits comfortably and make any final adjustments. When we’ve achieved the right fit, Hendersonville dentist, Dr. Weis will permanently secure it in place with a powerful dental adhesive.
